I Heard That Song Before
As a child, Kay Lansing witnesses a quarrel in an old hidden chapel on the grounds of the Carrington family estate. Years later, after a whirlwind courtship, Kay is married to the Carrington's son, Peter, despite the shadow of suspicion that hangs over Peter regarding the death two decades earlier of Susan Althorp, the 19-year-old daughter of his parent's neighbours, and the drowning of his first wife four years before. The subsequent discovery of two bodies buried on the estate causes Kay to question her husband's innocence. Kay believes that the key to the truth about her husband's guilt or innocence lies in the scene she witnessed in that chapel as a child. If she can identifiy the man and woman in the chapel who quarrelled that day, she may be able to save her husband's life - if indeed it deserves to be saved.

Damage Control
Dana Hill is used to performing a daily balancing act as both mother to a three year old, and a practising attorney. Her life looks pretty good, all things considered. Then, within a week, she's diagnosed with breast cancer; she discovers her husband is cheating on her; and her twin brother, James, is brutally murdered in what looks like a botched robbery attempt in his home. Never one to shrink from unpleasantness, Dana decides that the best thing she can do at the moment is pursue her brother's killer. This means putting off her own medical treatment, but Dana is on a mission. Looking through the mess left in her brother's home, she's shocked to discover a unique and obviously wildly expensive diamond earring. Using this piece of jewellery as a starting point, she enlists the aid of sceptical detective Mike Logan. Even he can't deny that something strange is going on as the body count begins to rise.

Hurting Distance
Three years ago, something terrible happened to Naomi Jenkins. So terrible that she never told anybody. But now Naomi has another secret - her passionate relationship with unhappily married Robert Hawarth. When Robert vanishes, Naomi knows he's come to harm. But the police are less convinced - particularly when Robert's wife insists he's not missing. In desperation, Naomi realises that if she can't persuade the police that he's in danger, perhaps she can convince them that he is a danger to others. That way they'll find him - and fast. After all, she knows how to describe the acts of a psychopath in detail....
