A BBC Radio 4 full-cast dramatisation, starring Philip Fox and Hugh Bonneville. Lady Tresselian has invited several guests to stay at her seaside house at Gull's Point. When death visits, the house party is thrown into turmoil and it is left to Detective Inspector Leach and Mr MacWhirter, an ex-detective who is also a house guest, to solve the case.

The adventure begins with a body on a train, the word 'Alex' scrawled on the window, and the discovery of a visiting card with the name 'Mrs Trevelyan'. More bodies follow and the two names recur. Paul Temple's investigation takes him to a psychiatrist's consulting room, London's dockland and a hotel in Canterbury, before the denouement in a deserted mill and the Temples' elegant flat in London.
